Bolsonaro’s party appeals to the Brazilian Supreme Court against tax on oil exports

The Liberal Party (PL, right) filed a Direct Unconstitutionality Action (ADI) at the Supreme Court (STF), on Wednesday (8), against the crude oil export tax adopted by Lula’s government through the Provisional Measure (MP) of fuel re-encumbrance.

The party intends to preserve the country’s international competitiveness and enforce the rule that prevents the collection of taxes in the same financial year as the law that instituted it or before 90 days from its publication.

The taxation went into effect immediately after the MP.

“The export tax increases regulatory instability and legal insecurity, with the risk of investment flight if it is not quickly reversed,” says the note of the legend.
