Expat and Brazilian professionals and amateurs are encouraged to attend and give stand-up comedy a try during what promises to be a great night of laughs.
The Stand-Up Comedy events, which take place in both Rio and São Paulo, are run by Kim Levone’s production company Improbable Comedy with the help of Finnish comedian Harri Soinila. Levone was recently named one of Rio de Janeiro’s 10 most interesting gringos of 2014 by The Rio Times.
This will be the event’s fourth edition at Mab’s, an American-owned restaurant and bar on Copacabana Beach, known for great food, drinks and a spectacular view. The R$20 entry fee tonight even includes a free caipirinha.

The Bem Brasil party returns to 00 tonight beginning at 11PM with free caipirinhas until midnight. DJs Bruno Lima and Ricardo Martins will spin the best of Latin rhythms, reggaeton, cumbia, kuduro and hip-hop and the group Bom Batuque will perform live samba. This weekly party is a great opportunity to mix and mingle in one of the chicest venues in Rio.

Language exchange – Lapa Irish Pub (Lapa)
Tonight at Lapa Irish Pub, it’s time again for the Portuguese/English language exchange. Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired with native Portuguese speaker at tables. The pairs will then speak English for five minutes followed by Portuguese for five minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner. It’s both fun and educational and the R$10 entrance cost includes free food. Usually following the Language Exchange, there is live entertainment.
