São Paulo Daily Brief for Tuesday, April 14, 2026

Welcome to your São Paulo daily guide for Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The MASP runs its free Tuesday from 10h to 20h — five exhibitions at zero cost, two hours later than normal closing. Renoir, Gamarra Heshiki, La Chola Poblete, Alarcón’s Wichí textiles, and the permanent collection. The Pinacoteca is closed today (its weekly day off). The weather is warm at 26°C with just 10% rain. On the markets, the Ibovespa broke 198,000 for the first time: +0.34% to 198,001, the 17th all-time record of 2026 and the 10th consecutive gain. The dollar closed below R$5.00 for the first time since March 2024, at R$4.997. But the Focus survey flagged a warning: IPCA was raised to 4.71% — above the 4.50% ceiling for the first time this year. Oil is back above US$100. The Sheyla Ayo show at the CCSP has five days remaining.

Inflation warning: The Focus survey raised the 2026 IPCA forecast to 4.71% — above the 4.50% ceiling for the first time. Oil is back above US$100 as ceasefire fragility keeps markets on edge.
