Monday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – After an epic New Year’s Eve most likely everyone is nursing a hangover, but with the sun shining there is really no better option than hitting the beach, and there is no better beach-side bar than the Blue Agave in Ipanema.
The open air local is a great place for tasty Mexican food, cold drinks and watching live sports. It also has English-speaking staff and is a popular expat hangout. The best part is it’s just around the corner from Post 9 in Ipanema, making it perfect for popping in before, during and after the beach.

The first night of the year is offering FREE admission for anyone with the name on the event Facebook wall! The drinks will be flowing and dancefloor heaving with DJ Otávio Enygma (Bagaceira/Ordinária) and DJ Julio Himself (Pagode Anos 90 / Surububa).

Funkzin com Mr. Vox na ressaca de Reveillon (Ipanema)
To start 2018 on the right foot, vocalist of the Bloco da Favorita Mr. Vox will perform a live vocals in a live funk Carioca funk show with current classics and hits. In the intervals Dj Mondraga will play a lot of hip hop, pop and hits of the world tracks.

RIXXA O Pavarotti do Samba (Lapa)
The Pavarotti of Samba leads a samba “over dose” with a three-hour samba show that combines the impact of Rixxa’s voice with the rhythmic beat of the samba schools. The roda de samba shakes Lapa with great percussionists, in a joint of Zeca Pagodinho’s band, portraying the rehearsals of the samba schools.
