Milei Reports Drop in Argentina’s Inflation

Argentina’s President, Javier Milei, announces that inflation is decreasing, sharing the news and promising a brighter future for the nation.

The announcement came through Télam, the state news agency, on Sunday.

Milei spoke in Mar del Plata this weekend. He addressed an audience at a show featuring Fátima Flórez, his partner.

“When I visited last (December 28), our journey had just started. I said it would be tough, yet we would succeed,” he stated.

“We’re succeeding. We’ve dodged hyperinflation. Now, inflation falls, and soon, we’ll move forward,” Milei added, with Flórez by his side.

Official figures reveal that December saw a 25.5% inflation rate, totaling 211.4% for 2023.

Upon the release of December’s data, Milei called it a “massive success” in local media talks. Predictions had set the month’s rate above 30%.

He credited this success to a strict fiscal plan. This plan aims to stop issuing money for government funding, reform the Central Bank, and adjust currency exchange policies.

Inflation rates for January will be known on February 14. Predictions vary between 18.3% and 23.5%.

Next Monday, Milei begins a tour. He will visit Israel, Italy, and the Vatican. Meetings with Benjamin Netanyahu, Giorgia Meloni, and Pope Francis are on his agenda.

This development matters as it signals potential economic stabilization in Argentina. Milei’s actions and plans show a commitment to addressing inflation, crucial for national growth.

The upcoming international meetings suggest efforts to strengthen global ties and seek support for his economic strategies.
