RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Four people died, and at least eleven were injured after an attack on a bar on Saturday night, June 29th, in Belford Roxo, Rio de Janeiro’s metropolitan area.
The event occurred around 9:00 PM in the central part of the city. According to the police, the victims were in the establishment and were struck by gunshots fired by hooded men.
The men got out of a white car and shot several rounds with rifles and guns.
One of the dead is a musician who, at the time of the attack, was performing at the bar with “Nosso Grupo”, a samba and pagode band from Nova Iguaçu.

In a note published on social networks, the band lamented the event: “We lost a great friend and musician. We’re very shaken and destroyed by what’s happened. All this cowardice saddens us.”
Just over a month ago, four people died, and seven were injured in a similar attack in São Gonçalo, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro.
The event occurred at a time when forty people were meeting for a celebration after a football match. Armed men drove up and shot at whoever was inside the bar.
