Bolivia joins EU discussions on tech minerals and rare earths mining

Bolivian President Luis Arce announced negotiations with select European Union (EU) countries, discussing possible investments in technological minerals, rare earths, and lithium.

The Bolivian government is focusing on expanding its lithium reserves from 21 million to 23 million tons and seeking to exploit other strategic minerals and rare earths.

During the EU and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Summit in Brussels, several countries showed interest in Bolivia’s resource potential.

Arce underscored Bolivia’s ability to offer significant strategic minerals and rare earths, which are key raw materials in the global technological sector.

The Bolivian government sees the development of these resources as a major administrative challenge in the mining sector.

As such, efforts are underway to boost exploration and exploitation of these vital minerals and rare earth elements.
