Angola to host conference to promote mining investments

The upcoming Angola Mining Conference & Exhibition (AMC 2023), scheduled for November in the capital city of Angola, aims to attract global mining investors and foster partnerships and investments in the country’s mining industry.

The conference will focus on various topics, including the regulatory framework, vision, and plans for the Angolan mining sector, opportunities related to energy transition minerals, and updates from major mineral companies in Angola.

The main theme of the conference will revolve around developing Angola’s mineral resources to provide critical minerals for the global clean energy transition.

The Angolan Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, in collaboration with AME Trade, is organizing the event. Alongside the conference sessions, workshops, a comprehensive social program, and a trade event will also take place.

Angola boasts a diverse portfolio of mineral resources and is well-positioned to benefit from the production of critical minerals.

Over the next five years, Angola plans to commence production of neodymium and praseodymium, essential for electric vehicle battery manufacturing, as well as copper and niobium.

The organizers of AMC 2023 highlight that Angola possesses 36 out of the world’s 51 most critical minerals, including chromium, cobalt, graphite, lead, lithium, and nickel.
