Five members of Chilean air force die in helicopter crash in southern region
A helicopter accident occurred on the night of July 31 in the Los Lagos region of southern Chile, resulting in the deaths of five Chilean Air Force (FACh) members.
The incident involved a Bell-412 helicopter belonging to Aviation Group Number 5 and took place around 8:30 pm in the La Cumbre sector, near San Juan de la Costa.
At the time of the accident, the military aircraft was on a night training flight, with a crew consisting of two pilots, two air crew members, and a parachute rescue and salvage command.

All five members died at the scene.
The causes of the accident are under investigation, according to a statement from the FACh. The Air Force is also providing support and assistance to the families of the deceased.
