Brazil’a general price index registers deflation of 1.01% in April and accumulates a 2.57% drop in 12 months

The General Price Index - Domestic Availability (IGP-DI) registered a deflation of 1.01% in April.

The data was released on Monday morning (08) by the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV Ibre).

The drop in the IGP-DI was slightly higher than the median of the estimates of 16 consulting and financial institutions.

Last month, the rate had been -0.34%. With the April result, the index accumulates a variation of -1.26% in the year and -2.57% in 12 months . . .
