Brazil: inflation forecasts and fiscal framework vote to take place this week
By Hamilton Ferrari
The beginning of the week will see a possible vote on the new fiscal framework, which had the urgency regime approved on Wednesday (17) by the House of Representatives.
The PLP (Complementary Law Project) 93 of 2023 advanced by 367 votes to 102.
Only the PL, Novo, and the federation Pol-Rede benches guided vote against it.

The federal government and the project’s rapporteur, Congressman Claudio Cajado (PP-BA), intend to vote on the text on Wednesday (24).
The rules change the Constitutional Amendment of the spending cap, which has been in force since 2016.
The IFI (Independent Fiscal Institution) will also release the Fiscal Monitoring Report on Wednesday (24), which will show calculations of the project’s effects on public accounts.
The week will also include the release of the IPCA-15 (National Wide Consumer Price Index), considered the inflation forecast.
The indicator will be released on Thursday (25). It registered a rate of 0.57% in April and 4.16% accumulated over 12 months.
On Friday (26), the Central Bank (BC) will begin the monthly publications of the main reports.
It will release foreign sector statistics, including trade balance data, direct investment in the country, Brazilians’ spending on international trips, and other topics.
Without a date yet, the Federal Revenue Service may release the federal tax collection results for April. In March, it totaled R$171.1 billion.
