Brazil and U.S. to reduce non-tariff barriers in bilateral trade

The governments of Brazil and the United States announced today their intention to reduce non-tariff barriers in bilateral trade, official sources reported.

The Brazilian Ministry of Economy released a statement Tuesday highlighting the main points raised during a trade dialogue held last month in Washington in the presence of the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Economy and the Under Secretary for International Trade of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The two governments discussed priority issues such as trade facilitation, good regulatory practices, conformity assessment procedures, standards and metrology, intellectual property, and the digital economy.
