Peru’s leaders have identified 96 locations across 15 regions in urgent need of assistance due to heavy rains.

The news came out in El Peruano, a leading newspaper.

The emergency covers places in Amazonas, Áncash, Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Junín, Lima, Madre de Dios, Pasco, Puno, San Martín, and Tacna.

It will last 60 days.

This move lets the government quickly do what’s needed to fix things. It also starts a rule to distribute food and other help more easily during disasters.

People can give many things. This includes medical stuff, food, clothes, and more. They can also offer free services like food delivery, medical help, and moving things.

President Dina Boluarte and her team back this rule. It’s because of reports from the Civil Defense Institute.

This will happen in the mountains and on the north coast from February 11 to 13. The jungle will also see bad weather.

This emergency matters because it shows the big impact of weather on people’s lives. It connects us to how important it is to help each other in tough times.
