Brazilian Stocks Push Higher as Fundamentals Remain Solid

Brazil’s main stock index, the Ibovespa, climbed 1.04% and reached 139,205.81 points early this morning, reflecting a shift in optimism among local investors.

This move happened after official data showed fewer new jobs than expected and the country’s central bank chief confirmed policymakers remain careful about lowering interest rates.

These volumes show that institutional investors continue to back the market, providing support for the latest recovery. Globally, Wall Street’s gains spread confidence to Brazil.

U.S. stocks rose as traders bet on technology giants, especially Nvidia, ahead of its earnings release. This strength transferred to Brazil, while European and Asian markets remained mixed due to new trade tariffs and international uncertainties.

Brazil’s central bank president, Gabriel Galípolo, told the market that inflation is cooling, but very slowly. He stressed the bank will not cut rates just because of one or two good reports.

With inflation running above target, authorities want to see several solid months before changing policy. The Global Liquidity Index NDQ, represented as a yellow line on the technical chart, stayed flat this week.
