Uruguay’s Technological Laboratory (LATU) has launched the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab, marking the debut of the first artificial intelligence (AI) laboratory in Latin America.
As one of only four labs of its kind globally, it aims to provide tailored solutions integrating AI and Internet of Things technologies to propel business and industrial growth.
LATU highlighted the lab as a gateway to a new landscape of business innovation, offering access to state-of-the-art tools and technology.

The opening ceremony was graced by several notable figures, including Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Omar Paganini, and Jun Yamasaki, the global leader of Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Labs.
The lab joins its counterparts in the USA, China, and Germany.
