See what opens and closes on Independence Day, September 7th, in São Paulo. Some municipal facilities in São Paulo will have altered schedules.

Here are the services that will remain open:

Caps III will operate for internal demands, and DVZ (Zoonosis Surveillance Division), DVE (Epidemiological Surveillance Division), and Cosap (Coordinator of Health and Domestic Animal Protection) will be on duty.

The four public veterinary hospitals (north, south, east, and west) will be closed on Thursday.

On September 8th, the north, south, and east units will open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the west unit will remain closed.

The service desks at the 32 subprefecture offices will be closed on September 7th and 8th.

The Ruas Abertas program on Avenida Paulista will be suspended on September 7th.

On Thursday, it will operate from 6 am to 6 pm. On Friday and Saturday (September 9th), it will operate from 6 am to 10 pm, and on Sunday (September 10th), from 6 am to 6 pm.

On Thursday and Friday, sales at bus terminal kiosks and Expresso Tiradentes will be from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., except for the Bandeira and Grajaú terminals, which will temporarily operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Jabaquara and Santana kiosks will be closed on Thursday and open as usual on Friday.

The SPTrans Central Kiosk will be closed on September 7th and 8th and resume regular operation on Monday, September 11th.

One of the most sought-after services at the service kiosks is card reload, which can be done through accredited apps.

The list of apps for reloading the Bilhete Único card is available on the SPTrans website. After purchasing credits, reload your card at the automatic machines or onboard validators.

September 8th

Kiosks and service at terminals and Expresso Tiradentes – operating from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., except for the Bandeira and Grajaú terminals, which will temporarily operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Jabaquara and Santana kiosks – regular operation
  • SPTrans Central Kiosk – closed

On Thursday, the municipal public transportation fleet will consist of approximately 6,500 buses in operation.

During the holiday extension, the fleet will consist of approximately 11,200 buses in operation on Friday.

The municipal vehicle rotation system and other traffic restrictions will not be enforced on September 7th. However, they will remain in effect on Friday, September 8th:

  • Rotation of heavy vehicles (trucks)
  • Zone of Maximum Restriction to Truck Circulation
  • Zone of Maximum Restriction for Charter Buses
  • Bus-exclusive lanes will also not be open.
  • The leisure cycle lanes will operate on Thursday and Sunday from 7 am to 4 pm.

On Thursday, the units will operate from 7 am to 6 pm. On Friday (September 8th), from 7 am to 10 pm. On Saturday and Sunday, from 7 am to 6 pm.

Municipal natural and urban parks will operate normally on Thursday (September 7th) and Friday (September 8th). The opening hours for each unit can be accessed through this link.

The services of the Wildlife Division at Cemacas (Center for Wildlife Management and Conservation) will be carried out from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the phone service will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The DFS unit in Parque Ibirapuera will be closed from September 7th to 10th.

Umapaz (Coordination of Environmental Education/Open University of Environmental and Peace Culture) and municipal nurseries will remain closed.

The Carmo Planetarium will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It will be closed on Sunday.

The equipment will have a special program as follows:

September 7th

1 pm to 5 pm – Planetarium open

2 pm to 4 pm – Workshop: Microworlds
4 pm to 5 pm – Session: Sky Today

September 8th:

1 pm to 5 pm – Planetarium open

3 pm to 4 pm – Session: Nebulas

September 9th:

1 pm to 5 pm – Planetarium open
1 pm to 5 pm – Planetary Games

The Elevado Presidente João Goulart, Minhocão, can be visited on Thursday from 7 am to 10 p.m.

On Friday, it will be open from 8 pm to 10 pm due to daytime vehicle traffic. Therefore, the furniture will not be available.

It will be open from 7 am to 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The following facilities managed by the SMDHC (Municipal Secretariat for Human Rights and Citizenship) will be closed:

  • Reference Centers, Citizenship Centers, Metrô Stations, Sacomã – Women
  • Reference Centers for the Promotion of Racial Equality
  • Immigrant Assistance and Reference Center
  • Child and Adolescent Reference Center
  • Promotion and Defense Center for the Rights of the Homeless Population (normal operation on September 8th and 9th)
  • Human Rights Ombudsman
  • Cultural and Creative Center for the Elderly and Advanced Office

Missing Persons – Advanced Office; only the institutional WhatsApp will be active for reports of located missing persons.

Social and Productive Inclusion Services (Recifran/Reviravolta) (also closed on September 8th)

Food and Nutritional Security Reference Center (CRESAN), Vila Maria, and Butantã
