According to a survey conducted by Datafolha Institute, after three months at the head of the São Paulo state administration, governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) is approved by 44% of the people from São Paulo.
Another 39% evaluate his administration as “regular” and 11% as “bad” or “terrible”.
Compared with evaluations of other governments made in similar periods, the approval rate of Tarcísio is higher than Mario Covas (31% in March 1995) and José Serra (39% in March 2007).
A total of 1,806 people aged 16 or older were heard in 65 municipalities in the state between April 3 and 5, 2023.
“The approval rate of the Tarcisio government is highest among those aged 45 and older (53%), among business people (67%), among LP supporters (86%), and among his voters in the second round of last year’s state election (60%).
On the other hand, the disapproval rate is higher among supporters of the PT (18%) and among Fernando Haddad’s voters in the second round of the state election last year (17%),” says an excerpt from the survey released last Sunday (9).
Among those interviewed, 12% said the governor has already done more for the state than expected; 45% said they expected more from the chief executive, and 37% evaluated that the governor has done precisely what was expected.
Regarding the promises made during the 2022 campaign:
- 25% evaluate that Tarcísio will fulfill most of these promises.
- 64% that he will fulfill part of these promises,
- 8% that he will fulfill none of the promises.
- 2% had no opinion.
“Among Tarcísio’s voters, the rate of those who believe that the governor will keep most of his promises is above average and reaches 39%,” says another excerpt from the poll.
