Rio de Janeiro hotels register full occupancy for New Year’s Eve

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Almost two weeks before New Year's Eve, the hotel network in the city of Rio de Janeiro is fully booked. According to data from the Rio de Janeiro Hotels Association (ABIH-RJ), the 2021 to 2022 New Year' Eve is looking better than the past two years, including 2019, before the pandemic, which closed at 88% occupancy.

In 2020, with more restrictive measures in the city, hotels had 70% of rooms booked. ABIH- RJ Board chairman Alfredo Lopes says the figures are good and the moment is of hope for the sector.
