Brazil’s Supreme Court demands government take position on vaccine passport requirement

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Federal Supreme Court (STF) Justice Luis Barroso on Monday, December 6, granted the federal government a 48-hour deadline to comment on a lawsuit calling for mandatory quarantine and proof of vaccination against Covid-19 for anyone entering the country.

The lawsuit filed by the Rede Sustentabilidade party on November 26 was assigned to Justice Barroso as rapporteur of the case. The party seeks to mandate the adoption of recommendations makde by the Brazilian health regulatory agency (ANVISA).
