Attack at nightlcub leaves 8 dead in central Mexico

Eight people were killed in an attack at a nightclub in the town of Apaseo el Grande, in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, according to a brief statement from the local government released Sunday.

“So far, there are reports that six men and two women died at the scene of the incident,” the statement said, adding that “security has been reinforced in the area with elements of the different security forces”.

According to local media, an armed commando entered the nightclub with high-caliber weapons and opened fire among the diners.
