Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva expressed his intent to bolster Brazil’s relationship with African nations during a brief meeting with Cape Verde President José Maria Neves.

He stated that Brazil owes a significant part of its cultural and historical identity to Africa, implying the need for stronger bilateral cooperation, particularly in technology, education, and agricultural development.

Though his visit to Cape Verde was brief and not official, Lula declared his plans to tour several African countries in the coming years to establish how Brazil could be of assistance.

President Neves appreciated the resumption of cooperation initiatives between the two nations, highlighting their shared interests in agriculture and education.

He also recognized Brazil’s international significance and commended Lula’s determination to strive for a world that enables dignified living for everyone.
