Fly Angola begins operations in the Central African Republic

FLY Angola announced a few days ago that it would begin operating in the Central African Republic (CAR) in six months with the creation of FLY Centrafrique.

This regional airline will link neighboring countries from the city of Bangui as part of its strategy to explore new routes in Africa.

The Luanda-based airline stated it had developed a business plan that culminated in creating an airline provisionally called FLY Centrafrique.

FLY Centrafrique will link Bangui to Douala, Cameroon, Brazzaville, Congo, N’djamena, Chad, Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, “thus reducing travel times and fares.”

To Forbes Lusophone Africa, the company did not give the amount invested in this new service but assured that economic studies are underway and that only after the conclusion will it know the level of investment to be made, foreseeing to start the operation with at least two aircraft.

With this operation, according to the note, the direct service, for example, will reduce the travel time from Bangui to Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, from 11 hours to 90 minutes.

Belarnicio Muangala, director-general of FLY Angola, quoted in the document, said that the constitution of FLY Centrafrique marks the beginning of a plan to explore new air markets in Africa, a region he says has great potential for increased demand for services, which he intends to serve “always with safety and quality.

A delegation from FLY Angola recently held meetings with the RCA authorities and was received in audience by the President of the Republic, Faustin Archange Touadéra, to whom the business plan and operational strategy for that market were presented.

During the contacts made in the city of Bangui, FLY Angola also had meetings with operators in the aeronautical sector, to whom it presented the competitive advantages of the services to be provided.

Created in August 2018 by a group of Angolan entrepreneurs, with its inaugural flight in September of the same year, FLY Angola is an airline that operates domestic flights in the country.

The company was created to stimulate safe air passenger and cargo traffic to boost the country’s economy.
