The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the Brazilian Army (EB) recently concluded the third phase of Operation Zeus, which aimed to evaluate the operational suitability and efficiency of transporting armored vehicles on the KC-390 Millennium aircraft.
The tests took place at the Anapolis Air Base and involved the KC-390 FAB 2856 aircraft from the 1st Troop Carrier Group and a 6×6 Astros II LMU MK6 armored combat vehicle from the 16th Missile and Rocket Group.
The tests included loading, anchoring, taxiing, and a successful flight with the vehicle on board. The operation demonstrated the ability of the KC-390 to transport the 24-ton Astros II LMU MK6 vehicle safely and efficiently.
The successful completion of the operation contributes to the consolidation of the KC-390 Millennium project and highlights the interoperability between the FAB and the Brazilian Army.
These tests mark an important milestone in Brazil’s defense capabilities and showcase the country’s technological advancements in military transport and armored vehicle manufacturing.
