A comprehensive breakdown: international military aid to Ukraine

Since the war in Ukraine started in late February 2022, several nations have provided Ukraine with military equipment to bolster its defense efforts.

An array of aircraft, tanks, artillery pieces, various armored vehicles, and a significant amount of ammunition have characterized this support.

From the details collected by Dutch intelligence analysis firm Oryx, the aircraft support includes 24 MiG-29 planes from Poland and Slovakia and 18 Su-25 jets from Bulgaria and North Macedonia.

Additionally, about 85 helicopters, predominantly Mi-17 models, have been sent mainly by the US, with others like Mi-24 and Mi-8 coming from countries such as Poland, North Macedonia, and Croatia.

Unmanned combat aerial vehicles, notably the Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2, also form part of this aerial support.

On the ground, over 795 tanks have been committed.

While a significant portion is Soviet-originated T-72 tanks, Western models like 82 Leopard 2s, 135 Leopard 1s, 14 British Challenger 2s, and 31 American M1A1 Abrams are also included.

Armored vehicles include 80+ armored fighting vehicles, 890+ infantry fighting vehicles, and over 1,900 armored personnel carriers sourced from various nations, including the US, UK, Germany, and Spain.

Artillery commitments span over 450 towed pieces, including American M777 155mm and several OTO Melara 105 mm from Spain, among other models.

Over 3,160 infantry vehicles, chiefly American HMMWVs, are also part of the aid, alongside various missile systems, laser-guided rockets, electronic warfare systems, reconnaissance drones, and more.

The international response to Ukraine’s defense needs has been comprehensive, spanning a wide range of modern military hardware and support systems.
