Trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries grows by 14% in the first half of 2022

Trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) reached USD104.461 billion from January to June 2022, up 14.13% year-on-year, according to data from the China Customs Service.

PSCs sold USD69.353 billion worth of goods to China in the first six months of 2022, up 9.24% year-on-year, while China’s goods exports to these countries reached USD35.108 billion in the same period, up 25.17% year-on-year.

The total value of goods traded between the two parties in June amounted to USD20.682 billion, up 8.11% year-on-year.

According to data released by the Macao Forum, the value of Chinese goods imports from the PSCs reached USD13.356 billion, down 4.69% year-on-year.

China sold goods worth USD 7.326 billion to these countries in June, up 43.19% year-on-year.

The Portuguese-speaking countries and regions are Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Galicia, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Macau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor, the Azores archipelago, the island of Madeira, Cochin, Goa, Daman and Diu, the island of Flores, Singapore and Malacca.
