BRICS success awakens interest of other countries to join the bloc, says Brazilian foreign minister

The success of BRICS, the emerging markets bloc grouping Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has awakened the interest of other countries to join the bloc, something that is being analyzed, according to Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira yesterday.

"Perhaps because of this great success of BRICS, the group caught the attention of many other countries in 15 years. We are working on this issue of the bloc's expansion," Vieira said from Cape Town, where he is participating in a meeting with BRICS foreign ministers.
