Lula da Silva bars Brazil’s conservative Jovem Pan TV from broadcasting his inauguration

The new rules for companies, individuals, and institutions in Lula da Silva’s Brazil are simple.

Either you are pro-Lula da Silva, and you will be rewarded (see Binance Brasil), or you are politically on the ‘wrong’ side and will be punished.

In November, YouTube demonetized all channels of Jovem Pan in Brazil and as soon as Lula da Silva is president, this media, like all the other (few) conservative outlets, will most probably have to face harsh realities.

The transition team of President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met with the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) on Thursday, Dec. 22, and decided to bar Jovem Pan TV for the broadcast of the president-elect’s inauguration on Jan. 1, 2023.

Conservative Jovem Pan in Brazil is the largest radio network in LATAM and is growing at unprecedented speed.

The place reserved for TV Jovem Pan to position the cameras and equipment, such as the external link, etc., at the Esplanade was given to EBC, known as “TV Lula” at its foundation.

Since the inauguration of Fernando Collor, the first president elected by direct vote after the military regime in Brazil, the transmission of the presidential inauguration has been done by groups of broadcasters, known as a “pool”, writes Revista Oeste.

The space on the Esplanade of the Ministries is divided among the various stations in the pool, each using its equipment and news teams, which integrate into a single broadcast.

The decision places Jovem Pan, known for its antagonistic position towards the PT party and its supporters, outside the broadcasting pool.

It begins at the Cultural Space of the Republic, at the beginning of the Esplanade, where the first broadcaster positions its cameras.

As the president-elect approaches the Praça dos Três Poderes (Three Powers’ Square), the networks will follow his route until he arrives at the Planalto Palace and receives the presidential sash.
