YouTuber Felipe Neto to Receive Medal of Legislative Merit Award from Congress

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The federal Chamber of Deputies nominated the digital influencer, businessman and author Felipe Neto to be awarded the Chamber of Deputies’ Medal of Legislative Merit.

The most important and highest award in the field led to an unprecedented action –that of bestowing the commendation upon an influencer opposed to the government.

“A courageous gesture and a leadership position in a troubling scenario, marred by an attempt to silence diversity based on censorship, should be acknowledged and applauded”.

“His prompt notion of justice made him take action on behalf of democracy. He put himself in the sights of irrational prejudices, so-called nationalists and advocates of good customs – who only know to spread fear and hatred”.

“However, this did not deter him from fighting for the greater good: the guarantee of better and fairer days for all,” said the letter sent and signed by Federal Deputy and Second Secretary of the Chamber of Deputies, Mário Heringer.

The award ceremony will be held on November 20th.
