Brazilian Senator denounces that Lula’s government already knew that the invasion incidents would take place
Senator Marcos do Val, belonging to the center-right Podemos party, used his space in the Wednesday session of Congress to denounce that Lula da Silva’s Government knew that last Sunday’s protests would end in the break-in of the National Congress building.
“I want to make a denunciation for the people of Brazil,” started the speech of the representative of the state of Espírito-Santo.
“The day before the events, ABIN informed the Federal Government, the Federal District Government, and 48 other public entities that Sunday’s protests would not be peaceful”, he continued.

ABIN is the Brazilian Intelligence Agency, and according to the congressman, there is evidence that they were monitoring the conversations of several protesters.
According to the messages sent to the office of the presidency, there is no doubt that Lula knew what would happen and did not order any action to stop them.
“It was explained to the government that an extremist cell was going with the sole intention of invading the three powers to destroy them,” Do Val revealed.
“What impressed me the most was to know that the Minister of Justice, who took the opportunity to accuse him of incompetence, and President Lula, knew a day before everything that was going to happen,” he fired.
“They knew and did nothing.”
“It is absurd to hear in the press the Minister of Justice himself saying that he opened his window, saw the demonstrators, closed the window, and did nothing”, remarked the senator.
The equation to be solved is why, if the Government knew about the riots that could occur, no measures were taken to prevent any tragedy.
Other opponents denounce a narrative manipulation of the incidents in favor of the Government’s objective: to discredit Bolsonaro and his inner circle.
The former president is in Miami, away from politics and trying to avoid an arbitrary arrest by Lulista judge Alexandre de Moraes.
The then-president saw with sadness what happened to the former constitutional president Jeanine Añez in Bolivia and decided to leave his country’s borders to avoid ending up in the same way.
For their part, the hundreds of demonstrators are still illegally detained, even though many were not involved in any altercation.
It is believed that no more than 400 people entered the buildings of the three powers, but there are approximately 1,700 people arrested in a shed in Brasília; many were protesting peacefully far from the area of the events.
