Brazilian congressman proposes Senatorial Committee to investigate Supreme and Electoral Court abuses

Congressman Marcel van Hattem (Novo-RS) said he filed a “request to open a Senatorial Investigation Committee CPI to investigate abuse of authority of the Supreme Court STF and the Superior Electoral Court TSE.

The parliamentarian said the request already has dozens of signatures on social networks. To be installed, the CPI needs 171 signatures.

By Twitter, van Hattem asks followers to cover the deputies for support for the CPI.

“I ask you to help me so we can collect the 171 signatures as soon as possible […] We can no longer wait. We can no longer be subjected to the abuse and arbitrariness of a dictatorship of the toga that does not even allow us the freedom to speak,” said the deputy when reading the request.
