Brazilian agriculture registers 4th consecutive month with record exports

In 2023, Brazil’s agriculture and livestock sectors have witnessed impressive growth. The cattle production is forecasted to increase by 1.3%, reaching a total of 48.5 million cattle heads.

This growth in the cattle sector has been attributed to increased demand in key markets and efficient production strategies.

Brazil’s poultry exports are also on the rise, with a predicted growth of 4% in 2023.

In particular, chicken meat exports have seen firm demand, reinforcing Brazil’s position as a significant player in global meat trade.

The country’s soybean and corn exports are predicted to reach record volumes this year.

Soybean exports alone are expected to surpass 90 million tonnes.

This surge in exports has been driven by a series of record-breaking crops, potentially positioning Brazil as the world’s largest corn exporter in 2023.

Despite the record-setting exports, decreased domestic demand has resulted in lower prices.

However, the outlook remains positive, with an anticipated increase of 4% in beef exports from 2022.

Brazil’s booming agriculture sector is not without environmental implications.

As the world’s leading beef exporter, Brazil’s livestock industry is linked to one-fifth of all commodity-driven deforestation across the tropics.

Nevertheless, the country continues to maintain its strong presence in global agricultural trade.
