Brazil STF Justice Moraes rejects Prosecutor General’s request and upholds inquiry into Bolsonaro

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Federal Supreme Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes upheld the opening of an inquiry against President Jair Bolsonaro for the false association he made between the Covid-19 vaccine and the risk of contracting the AIDS virus.

In Tuesday's decision, Moraes rejected Prosecutor General Augusto Aras's arguments to review the inquiry.

Aras on Monday argued that the Prosecutor General's Office is investigating the case and that the inquiry would result in a double investigation of the same facts, which is illegal.
