Brazil: Almost Five Million Have Recovered From Covid-19 (November 2nd)
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Ministry of Health’s Coronavirus Panel reports that 190 more people died because of Covid-19 in Brazil over the past 24 hours, according to official records released on Monday, November 2nd. As a result, the total number of deaths since March 27th stands at 160,074.

The mortality rate is of 76.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In total, lethality is of 2.9 percent of all Covid-19 cases. According to the update, 10,100 people have been reported with new infections.
The report totals 5.545 million cases of novel coronavirus infection – an incidence of 2,639 cases per group of 100,000 inhabitants.
According to the Ministry, 4.98 million people have recovered. Over 404,000 cases are still under follow-up. The Southeast Region registers a total of 1.944 million cases of Covid-19 infection and 72,800 deaths.
The region is followed by the Northeast with 1.48 million cases and 42,200 deaths. In the South, there are 722,700 cases and 14,800 deaths.
In the North of the country, 703,400 people have been infected and 15,900 have died.
In the Midwest, there are 694,800 cases of infection and 14,800 deaths. The worst incidence and mortality rates per 100,000 inhabitants are found in this region: 4,263.6 people have been infected and 91.1 have died in each 100,000 inhabitants group.
With the confirmation of 648 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the state of São Paulo reached a total of 1,117,795 cases, according to information updated on Monday by the local government.
In the period, 15 deaths were also reported. Thus, the sum of deaths caused by the disease amounts to 39,346.
The epidemiological report also includes data on the hospital beds occupancy. In Greater São Paulo, 41 percent of ICU beds were filled by patients undergoing treatment against the disease. In the other cities of the state, the rate stands at 39.4 percent.
In all, 6,928 people are hospitalized throughout the state, 3,901 of whom are in wards and 3,027 in ICU beds. Currently, 91 percent of the 645 municipalities in São Paulo have recorded at least one death.
