Ukraine’s Grain Diplomacy in Africa

Amidst ongoing conflicts, Ukraine intensifies efforts to forge stronger connections with African nations, enhancing its diplomatic and humanitarian outreach.

Plans include increasing its embassies across Africa and organizing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy‘s landmark state visit.

These initiatives aim to fortify global alliances and tackle critical food security issues, spotlighting Ukraine’s significant role as a major wheat supplier.

To combat food shortages in Africa, Ukraine is expanding its grain shipment programs to nations including Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Nigeria, and Sudan.

At a later stage, the efforts will reach Mozambique, Mauritania, Djibouti, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Malawi.

This move seeks to alleviate the adverse effects of war on the global food supply and underscores Ukraine’s commitment to supporting needy countries.
