Only woman in F4 Brazil dreams of racing for Ferrari in Formula 1
The young Aurelia Nobels, 15 years old, integrates the grid of the recently created F4 Brazil, being the only woman to compete in the basic championship that adds points to the super license necessary to reach Formula 1 (F1).
On her helmet, the driver carries three flags: the flag of Belgium, her parents’ country of origin, the flag of the United States, the place where she was born, and the Brazilian flag in the center of the equipment, where she pays homage to her idol, Ayrton Senna.
Besides that, she is in the final of the FIA (International Automobile Federation) Girls on Track – Rising Stars selection, along with three other competitors competing for a place in the Ferrari Driver Academy.

All the drivers who participated in this first phase went through a series of tests on the track and physical and psychological tests.
Born in the USA, the daughter of Belgian parents, her family has lived in Brazil since she was three years old, and the young woman is Brazilian at heart because she loves Senna and seeks a place in Ferrari.
In the Senior group, which Aurelia was part of, six competitors were in the selection. In total, 14 girls are part of the program.
The FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars final phase will take place in November at Ferrari’s headquarters. The best competitor will win a place in the Ferrari Driver Academy, which prepares drivers for F1.
After the success in the first step of the selection, Aurelia Nobels returns to Brazil for her commitments in the Brazilian F4.
Aurélia dreams about Formula 1, which has not had a female driver since the Italian Giovanna Amati, who participated in the official qualifying practice sessions in three rounds of the 1992 season.
The last woman to compete in a race was compatriot Lella Lombardi, who participated in 12 races between 1974 and 1976.
Since then, British Susie Wolff – currently the chief executive of the Venturi team in Formula E (electric single-seaters) – and Katherine Legge are the closest to competing in the main motorsport category.
