Oil prices rose for a second consecutive session on July 11, 2024, with Brent crude surpassing $85 per barrel.

This increase is largely driven by the anticipation of interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve following an unexpected slowdown in inflation.

Brent futures increased by $0.32, reaching $85.40 a barrel. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures climbed by $0.52 to $82.62 a barrel.

The recent consumer price data from the US showed a decrease in June. This has boosted hopes that the Federal Reserve might reduce interest rates soon.

Market traders now estimate an 89% chance of a rate cut in September, up from 73% the day before.

2. China:

Chinese media highlights the impact of US economic policies on global commodity markets, particularly in energy sectors where China is a significant player.

3. Saudi Arabia:

Coverage in Saudi Arabia discusses the potential benefits for oil-exporting countries if US demand increases as a result of boosted economic activity.

4. France and Japan:

In Europe and Asia, there’s a shared perspective on the delicate balance central banks face between fostering growth and controlling inflation.

5. Russia and South Korea:

Russian and Korean reports delve into the local effects of global oil price changes, emphasizing the interconnected nature of modern economies.

6. Spanish and Hebrew-speaking countries:

Spanish and Hebrew media analyze the local market responses, predicting short-term fluctuations in energy stock valuations.

This narrative demonstrates the global interconnectedness of economies and markets.

It shows how a single nation’s economic policy, such as that of the US, can ripple across the world. This influences everything from oil prices to central banking decisions globally.
