Brazil’s Week Ahead: Economic Data and Global Markets Focus

This week focuses on key global economic events, including Brazil’s first inflation data of 2024 with the IPCA-15 index.

Additionally, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s recent meeting with China’s Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi underscored Brazil’s commitment to the ‘One China’ policy.

This meeting is crucial in the lead-up to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Brazil, coinciding with the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro.

Friday will be significant with the release of the IPCA-15 index for January. Estimates suggest a 0.46% increase.

This reflects changes in food prices and industrial costs. The yearly rate is expected to decrease slightly compared to December.
