Brazilian Judiciary Proceeds with Charges Against Bolsonaro Family

The Civil Police charged Jair Renan Bolsonaro, youngest son of the former president, with money laundering, ideological falsehood, and use of false documents.

The investigation centered on his alleged use of a fraudulent document to obtain an unpaid bank loan.

The document in question reported revenue of R$ 4.6 million ($900,000) for Bolsonaro Jr. Events and Media.

The probe also examined the involvement of Maciel Carvalho, a former advisor to Jair Renan, in the matter. He, too, has been charged.

Bolsonaro Jr. Events and Media, which organizes fairs, congresses, exhibitions, and parties, is now listed as closed by the Federal Revenue.

The investigation by the Civil Police explores Jair Renan’s company ownership change through a donation.
