São Paulo: large fire reaches Pau Queimado favela in the east zone

A fire of significant proportions has been raging since the early hours of this Thursday (27th) in a favela in the region of Penha, East Zone of São Paulo (SP).
The flames started around 4:15 am.
According to the SP fire department, about 20 vehicles were mobilized to the scene to attend the occurrence.
Throughout the early morning, residents also tried to help by carrying buckets of water to the scene.
According to the residents, the flames started in one of the shacks after an accident with a candle.
The fire department has not yet confirmed the cause of the fire.
The fire spread and reached several houses in the area.
At least one person was rescued with burns all over his body. There is no information yet about the health condition of the victim.
Around 6:30 am, the firemen said the flames were under control.
They were working on the aftermath to avoid new fire outbreaks.
