Agriculture and livestock increased by 6%, the meat sector achieved record exports of US$3 billion, and other sectors made a good recovery, with very high levels of activity.

Fernando Mattos added that there are great expectations for growth due to Uruguay’s strategy of seeking a free trade agreement with China.
He also highlighted the project’s progress, which is expected to be completed in the first months of next year. He pointed out that it represents the collective effort and work of the entire sector, which promoted, financed, and built it.
He added that “the state portfolio is working to achieve a consensus that will allow the definitive confirmation of Inavi’s board of directors with the greatest possible representativeness”. In this sense, he expressed that he hopes to inaugurate the next harvest with the headquarters finished and the board of directors constituted.
Mattos indicated that the objective is to build, together with the institute, specific policies with a vision of the future and contemplate the strategic plan that the ministry is promoting for national agricultural development.
