New cold front approaching Brazil should lower temperatures this week

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A new cold front began its path toward Brazil yesterday, August 11, and will lower temperatures in the Southern and Southeastern states.

Temperatures are expected to drop between 2ºC and 3ºC, mainly in the next two days, lowering both maximum and minimum temperatures. However, the cold will be much milder than in late July, when temperatures were close to or below freezing in many regions of Brazil's Center-South.
