Flordelis’ Household saw Betrayal, Swinging, and Relationships Between Siblings, According to Depositions

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Testimony to the police in the inquiry investigating the death of Pastor Anderson do Carmo, the husband of federal deputy Flordelis dos Santos, disclosed cases of betrayal, romantic relationships between siblings, and even swinging of couples within the family.

During her interview on August 12th, Erica dos Santos de Souza, one of Flordelis’ adopted daughters, was questioned by the Niterói and São Gonçalo Homicide Police Department officers whether she had witnessed interpersonal involvement between the people living in the house.

The Flordelis’ household, including a Brazilian singer, pastor and federal deputy electedfrom Rio de Janeiro, saw cases of betrayal and relationships between the deputy’s children.

She reported that Adriano dos Santos, Flordelis’ only biological son, had a loving relationship with two adopted sisters — Nylaine and Lorrana when he was already dating Marcele, his current wife.

Erica also reported that Simone dos Santos, Flordelis’ only biological daughter, was involved with Alexandre Freire, an adopted son.

According to Maria Edna do Carmo’s deposition, Pastor Anderson’s mother, Simone, had a relationship with her son in the early ’90s. According to Edna, shortly after, Anderson left Simone to be with Flordelis.

In her testimony to the police, Erica further recounted that two adopted siblings — Iago and Francine — were involved with each other, but left the house to assume their relationship, “because Anderson and Flordelis did not allow this behavior inside the house.”

In addition to the relationships mentioned in the testimony, at least two other couples were formed within Flordelis’ family. Pastors Carlos Ubiraci and Cristiane, both Flordelis’ adopted children — they are now married and live on the land of the family home in Pendotiba.

They built a house attached to the residence, where they currently reside. The couple has a
biological daughter, Raquel, and an adopted daughter, Rebeca.

They are also regarded as parents by Roberta de Souza, who was fostered by Flordelis in her home, while still in Jacarezinho, but it was Carlos and Cristiane who raised her.

Simone herself has been married to André Luiz de Oliveira, known as Bigode, also an adopted son. Together, they had three biological children — Lorrane, Ramon, and Rafaela.

They separated ten years ago. The couple also raised Raiane as their daughter, the first child taken by Flordelis to raise. According to the pastor’s reports, Raiane had been found in a dumpster in Central do Brasil (Brazil Central) train station in downtown Rio.

Erica was the last daughter to testify to the Civil Police Homicide Division. She appeared
voluntarily at the police station to provide her report on the case.
