Venezuelan president invites foreign investors to agricultural production

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday invited investors from Latin America and around the world to invest in his country’s agricultural sector, assuring that Venezuela offers very favorable conditions for agricultural production.

“I invite all investors from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and now Colombia to come to Venezuela and farm the land, do good business and produce food for export,” Maduro said.

He reiterated that “Venezuela has millions of hectares for national investment and now, as we have prioritized, for international investment, so Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and the whole world are welcome to produce on Venezuelan soil, for the national market, and import.”

He assured that his country offered comparative advantages regarding soil quality, water, climate, and territory. “It is the country to produce food; Venezuela will be in the world center of food production,” he predicted.

Maduro called on the entire productive sector of his country to “promote the vocation of the entire Venezuelan economy to export; we will pave the way for Venezuela to become an export power for goods, services, and food.”

He explained that during his last international tour of Eurasian and African countries, he noted that several countries in the world are willing to buy from Venezuela a wide range of products that can be produced in the South American country.
