Venezuelan government announces a “strong blow” to drug trafficking with the capture of a Colombian drug lord

The Bolivarian National Police “has dealt a strong blow to drug trafficking” with the capture of a drug lord of the Valle del Cauca Cartel (Colombia), Venezuelan Interior, Justice, and Peace Minister Remigio Ceballos said Sunday.

Ceballos said that the capture of the drug lord, whom he did not identify, occurred in raids on properties in the towns of Lechería and Anaco in eastern Venezuela.

During the raids, the minister said on his Twitter account, 12 aircraft, four vehicles, a yacht, a house, and various documents of criminalistic interest were seized.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Interior, Justice, and Peace disclosed in a press release that 125 kilograms of drugs (cannabis), weapons, ammunition, and three vehicles, were seized today in the state of Nueva Esparta (northeast).
