Venezuela and Uganda discuss bilateral cooperation

Venezuela and Uganda recently met in Baku, Azerbaijan to explore new avenues for mutual cooperation.

The meeting between the Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Yván Gil, and his Ugandan counterpart, Jeje Odongo, aimed to strengthen the ties between the two nations.

The officials discussed their bilateral agenda and outlined potential areas of cooperation.

Both countries have previously expressed satisfaction with their existing relations and have shown interest in enhancing cooperation in multilateral forums.

The meeting took place alongside the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (Mnoal).

The Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the shared principles and the desire for closer collaboration.

Venezuela and Uganda have already signed agreements in various areas, including culture, energy, housing, transport, tourism promotion, and other sectors of common interest.

Since 1999, when Chavism came to power in Venezuela, the country has prioritized commercial relations and solidarity with African nations.

The press release emphasized the deep bonds of brotherhood between Venezuela and Africa.

Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Uganda were established on April 27, 1970.
