The secretary-general of communication of the Presidency of Ecuador, Andres Seminario, resigned this Monday from the position through his Twitter account, in a publication that he later deleted.
“Thank you for the opportunity to serve you, Ecuadorians,” wrote the now former official, local media reported.
His resignation comes a few hours after Ecuador’s president, Guillermo Lasso, who is facing impeachment proceedings for his alleged involvement in the “El Gran Padrino” corruption case, said in a televised interview with the country that one of the problems of his government has been communication.
Seminario has held the post since October 12, 2022, and is the third to be in charge of presidential communication since the current administration took office on May 24, 2021.
His resignation takes place two days after the resignation of Foreign Minister Juan Carlos Holguín “for personal reasons”.
