Bolivian athletes to train at high performance centers in Russia

Bolivia and Russia signed an agreement so that athletes from the South American country can travel to train in high-performance centers in Moscow, informed the Minister of Health, Jeyson Auza.

“We have consolidated several scholarships for our athletes, who will go to Russia to receive training at the highest level and in addition to close cooperation with this country that is a sports power,” he explained at a press conference.

The agreement was made possible in Caracas, where Russian and Bolivian authorities attended the inauguration of the V ALBA 2023 ALBA Sports Games over the weekend, in which delegations from eight Latin American countries and a Russian delegation are participating.

“We have held important meetings with the Russian Minister of Sports, where we seek to design high-performance strategies to improve the competitiveness of national athletes in different disciplines,” he said.

Bolivia, whose delegation in the last Olympic Games was reduced, seeks to improve its participation with support from Russia.

Since the times of the Soviet Union (USSR), Russian athletes have been at the top of the medal table in different disciplines at the Olympic Games.
