Bolivia to invest over US$465 million on Bioceanic Railway Corridor

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Bolivian Government will invest more than US$465 million until 2025 for the construction of the Bioceanic Integration Railway Corridor, according to the Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing, Édgar Montaño.

“We are going to invest more than BOB 3.2 billion (US$465 million) until 2025,” answered the authority when asked about how much the Bolivian State will invest in building the project.

Along with the above, Montaño explained that the eastern railway network from Montero to Bulo Bulo has already been built in Bolivian territory, and only one section remains to be completed.

"We are going to invest more than BOB 3.2 billion (US$465 million) until 2025," answered the authority when asked about how much the Bolivian State will invest in building the project.

Likewise, with an investment of US$2.6 million, the study for the construction of the Bulo Bulo – Ivirgazama – Villa Tunari railway has already been tendered this year.

“Obviously, from there, we will also have to tender Villa Tunari to Capinota and Capinota; since Oruro is very close, we already have the western railroad road network. Therefore, we will be missing that section, and that is why I was saying that we will invest more than BOB 3.2 billion in these routes until 2025,” he said.

In this context, the minister asked the governor of Santa Cruz, Fernando Camacho, to allocate economic resources for the Bioceanic Integration Railway Corridor, considering that in the past days, he committed investments to a Brazilian authority.
