Brazil’s pork production estimated at 6.5 million tons by 2033

Brazil’s pork production is estimated at 6.5 million tons by 2033. The total meat production in 2022/23 is estimated at 29.6 million tonnes (Mt), with a projection of 36.2 Mt of chicken, beef, and pork by the end of the next decade.

This represents a 22.4% increase in production, with the highest increases in chicken (28.1%), pork (23.2%), and beef (12.4%).

Export projections indicate high growth rates for all three types of meat analyzed, with exports being the most significant variable in meat growth.

The outlook is favorable for Brazilian exports, with chicken, beef, and pork expected to grow annually by 2.8%, 2.6%, and 2.9%, respectively, which are considered high rates.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) ranks Brazil as the third-largest pork exporter in 2032, after the European Union and the United States.

At the end of the forecast period, Brazilian meat exports are expected to reach 11.7 Mt, a 30.8% increase from the initial 9.0 Mt exported.

The most significant increases in meat exports are expected in pork (33.5%), beef (29.7%), and chicken (30.9%).

According to the USDA 2023, the main markets for Brazilian pork are China, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and the United States.
