Brazil will seek to lead with France a peaceful solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced Tuesday that he would seek to meet next week with French President Emmanuel Macron to lead a solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“Brazil is committed to trying to arrange partners,

  • so that we can bring peace so that Ukraine can keep its territory
  • so that the Russians can keep Russia
  • so that the world does not suffer the lack of food
  • so that the world does not suffer the lack of fertilizers and
  • so that the world can prosper again to generate the jobs that humanity needs,

said Lula, who is on an official visit to Spain, reinforcing his concern about the food and energy crises caused by the war.

Therefore, the Brazilian president’s intention could indicate a visit to France in the near future. However, there is still no official confirmation about the trip.

Lula intends “to build a movement that restores peace to our beloved Europe so that we do not continue to dream every night of the possibility of a 3rd World War or even the use of nuclear bombs.”

“What can avoid this is the wisdom of trying to find a common denominator to achieve peace,” he added.

Lula will address the issue this Wednesday with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
